Authorities said on Saturday that armed miscreants looted a fuel pump in Ri-Bhoi area on Friday evening. Two masked men holding an AK-47 and a small arms robbed Rs. 2.5 lakh from the gas station at Highway Carrier Refilling Centre, located at 14 Mile, Byrnihat along the National Highway, at around 5:38 p.m.
According to the employees at the petrol station, these males arrived on a black and red Pulsar motorcycle, forced their way into the cash room, and seized Rs 2 lakh at gunpoint. The registration number of the bike, however, could not be recorded on video due to the low quality CCTV footage. Following this, the manager of the filling station notified the Byrnihat Police Outpost, who hurried to the scene. The matter is now being investigated.
