Jaipur: 5 people have been tragically killed in a collision between a bus and a tanker in the Barmer district of Rajasthan. Several people are also reportedly injured in the accident. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. A bus and tanker collided with a bus and tanker near Bhandiawas on Jodhpur Highway in the Pachpadra police station area of the Barmer district.
The fire broke out on the bus after this collision. Nearly two dozen passengers were injured in the accident and have been admitted to Nahta Hospital in Balotra. The injured are undergoing treatment. As soon as the incident was reported, trains of Pachpadra police and fire brigade rushed to the spot and brought the fire under control. Rescue operation is still going on the spot. Divisional Commissioner Rajesh Sharma, Minister-in-charge of the Barmer district Sukhram Bishnoi, Pachpadra MLA Madan Prajapat also rushed to the spot after receiving information about the incident.
Barmer district collector Lok Bandhu and Superintendent of Police Deepak Bhargava also left the district headquarters for the spot. After the accident, there was a long jam of vehicles on both sides of the highway while a huge crowd gathered. Police are investigating the cause of the accident.
