Andhra Pradesh: In a recent incident, a privately operated travel bus overturned on National Highway 65 near the outskirts of Thotacharla village, situated in the NTR district of Andhra Pradesh. Reports indicate that a total of ten individuals sustained injuries during the accident, as confirmed by an official statement released on Friday.
The ill-fated bus was en route from Hyderabad and had its destination set for Vijayanagaram. At the time of the mishap, the vehicle was carrying a passenger load of around 40 people. Tragically, the accident led to injuries for ten passengers on board.
According to Janardan Naidu, Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) in Nandigama, "The incident occurred due to the bus's excessive speed, causing it to overturn along NH65. Regrettably, more than ten passengers suffered injuries as a result of the incident. They have been promptly transported to government hospitals in Nandigama and Vijayawada for medical attention. The bus was on its way to Vijayanagaram from Hyderabad. Appropriate measures were swiftly taken to provide assistance and support."
In light of this incident, authorities have initiated a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the bus overturning. The Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) in Nadigama also affirmed the ongoing nature of the investigation.
