Brandon Sklenar will star alongside Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried in The Housemaid, a psychological thriller directed by Paul Feig. Known for his recent role with Blake Lively in It Ends With Us, Sklenar will play Andrew, a wealthy husband with a complex background.
The story centers on Millie, portrayed by Sweeney, who takes on a housekeeping job for Andrew (Sklenar) and his wife Nina (Seyfried). Millie is searching for a fresh start but soon discovers unsettling secrets about the couple's past. The film is adapted from Freida McFadden's bestselling novel, which has sold over 3.6 million copies. The screenplay was crafted by Rebecca Sonnenshine, enhancing the novel’s dark twists for the big screen.
Paul Feig, noted for his work on Jackpot! and the upcoming A Simple Favor 2, brings his distinct directorial approach to The Housemaid. Feig’s anticipated A Simple Favor sequel, starring Lively and Anna Kendrick, is set to release next spring.
Sklenar, recognized for his breakout role in 1923 on Paramount+, continues to land prominent roles in major productions. He will also appear in Drop, an upcoming film by Blumhouse/Universal, directed by Christopher Landon.
The film is produced by Todd Lieberman from Hidden Pictures, alongside Feig and Laura Fischer from Feigco. Sweeney and Seyfried also serve as executive producers, joined by Alex Young and author Freida McFadden. Project oversight will be managed by Lionsgate’s Chelsea Kujawa and Erin Jones-Wesley.
