Mumbai: In a tragic incident on Saturday, a boiler explosion at the Gaj Kesari Steel Mill in the MIDC area of Jalna, Maharashtra, left 22 workers injured. The explosion occurred around noon, causing molten iron to shower over the workers, leading to severe injuries.
Superintendent of Police Ajay Kumar Bansal reported that three of the injured workers are in critical condition. They have been rushed to a private hospital in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar city for urgent medical treatment. The remaining injured workers are receiving care for their injuries. The Gaj Kesari Steel Mill, where the explosion took place, is involved in manufacturing steel bars from scrap metal. Following the explosion, police officials have been recording statements from the injured workers to gather more information about the incident. Preliminary investigations suggest that the incident was caused by a malfunction in the factory's boiler system.
In response to the accident, legal action is being initiated against the owner of the steel factory. Authorities are conducting a thorough investigation to determine the exact cause of the explosion and to hold those responsible accountable. The factory has been temporarily shut down as the investigation continues.
