New Delhi: In anticipation of India's 75th Republic Day, President Droupadi Murmu granted approval for 277 gallantry awards on Thursday. The recipients of these prestigious awards include 119 individuals serving in areas affected by Left Wing Extremism, 133 from Jammu and Kashmir, and an additional 25 from various other regions, as disclosed by the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA).

Remarkably, among the 277 gallantry medal recipients, a significant majority—275 awards—were conferred upon 72 personnel hailing from Jammu and Kashmir. Furthermore, 18 individuals from Maharashtra, 26 police personnel from Chhattisgarh, 23 from Jharkhand, and 15 from Odisha have also been honored for their exemplary courage. The list encompasses eight police personnel from Delhi and 65 from the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF).

Additionally, 21 personnel from Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB) have been recognized for their outstanding contributions.
