Mandsaur: Asia's first female commercial truck driver Parvati Arya has passed away. She has been ill for the past few days. Last evening, his health suddenly deteriorated and she died at the age of 75. Parvati Arya was also honoured by then-President Giani Zail Singh for her inspired life.
Parvati Arya of Mandsaur in Madhya Pradesh, a normal-looking woman who did such an extraordinary job that was being discussed in India as well as all over Asia. The brave woman decided to become a truck driver in 1976 to raise her four brothers and eight sisters at a young age. Parvati received many more honours and recognitions after being honoured by then-President Giani Zail Singh. Parvati was felicitated not only by many institutions in the country but also abroad. Parvati always taught all women that no profession is for women or for men.
