Panaji: A shocking incident is coming to the fore from Panaji, Goa where 2 minor children were found dead at their house while their father was later found hanging from a tree behind the house. Superintendent of Police (North) Nidhin Valsan told reporters that prima facie it appears that the man strangled the children to death and then committed suicide.

The bodies of a 14-year-old minor boy and his 8-year-old sister were found at their house in Candolim village on Saturday night, police said. He said that when the children died, their mother was not at home. He said, the mother returned and knocked on the door, when the children did not open the door of the house, their mother forcibly opened the door with the help of neighbors. When she went inside and found the children dead, she was stunned.

The police got a call about the same incident at around 10.30 pm on Saturday night. The officer said that the Calangute police then launched a search for the children's father, who was missing after the children were found dead. Valson said the man's body was found hanging from a tree behind his house on Sunday morning. Another officer said the man was in his late 40s. However, how these deaths happened is still being investigated.
