New Delhi: Delhi's ruling Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Amanatullah Khan's problems are increasing continuously. A Delhi court on Friday (January 20) ordered the framing of charges against Amanatullah Khan and 24 others for rioting and stone-pelting at police personnel in May 2022 while protesting against the demolition drive being carried out by the South Delhi Municipal Corporation.
The court held the accused guilty of rioting, inciting with intent to riot, obstructing a public servant in the way of his public functions, assault or criminal intimidation, deterring a public servant from his duty, and voluntarily causing hurt to intimidate a public servant. Instructions have been given to register the case. The court has said in its order that on the basis of the documents placed on record by the prosecution, the complaint filed under section 195 of the Code of Criminal Procedure (CRPC), the MLC of the injured police personnel, the statement of the seized property of the case, etc. The allegations are being proven.
Additional Sessions Judge Harjit Singh Jaspal's court said that there was enough evidence to prosecute the accused. At the same time, the court has also acquitted 8 accused. The court said that evidence has not been found to prosecute these accused.
