New Delhi: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) National Convener Arvind Kejriwal held a spirited roadshow in Pundri, Kaithal, on Saturday in support of party candidate Narendra Sharma. The event drew enthusiastic supporters who joined Kejriwal’s procession, waving AAP flags and chanting slogans in his favor.
As Haryana prepares for the upcoming elections for its 90-member legislative assembly, scheduled for October 5, votes will be counted on October 8, alongside those in Jammu and Kashmir. AAP MP Sanjay Singh emphasized the party's significance, stating, "Whatever the result of Haryana, the key to power will be in the hands of Arvind Kejriwal." He further elaborated on AAP's priorities for the state, including access to electricity, water, education, and healthcare, along with a proposal for women to receive ₹1,000 monthly and free electricity for residents.
In previous rallies, Kejriwal accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of orchestrating false accusations against AAP leaders. While addressing a rally in Haryana, he announced five key guarantees for the state's residents: free electricity, free medical services, quality government schools, ₹1,000 for women over 18, and employment opportunities for youth.
Kejriwal asserted, "The Prime Minister thought that Kejriwal is doing a lot of work and needs to be stopped. They arrested all our party leaders to undermine my integrity. They labeled me a 'Bhrashtachari' and a 'Chor.' But in Delhi, people say I can be anything but a 'Chor.' I resigned and said that the people of Delhi will decide my honesty."
On September 23, Kejriwal further claimed that no government could be formed in Haryana without AAP's support, stating, "It is my responsibility that whichever government is formed with our support, we will ensure that electricity in Haryana is provided free of charge."
