Apple is going to launch its new Watch Series 10 soon. Some special features have been added to this new watch, including a possible ECG sensor, which can help detect sleep apnea.
What is sleep apnea?
Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder in which breathing stops and starts repeatedly while sleeping. A person suffering from this may have problems snoring and gasping, which reduces the level of oxygen in the blood. This condition can be quite serious and can be dangerous if not treated on time.
Features of the new Apple Watch Series 10
According to media reports, the Watch Series 10 will have a sleep tracking feature that will help detect sleep apnea. It will warn users and suggest further tests. Apart from this, changes have also been made in the way health data is processed. A new health algorithm will also be used in the new watch to check for atrial fibrillation.
Launch date and possible features
The Apple Watch Series 10 will be announced on September 9 with the tagline "It's glowtime". It will have a larger display and a thinner case, which may come in 44mm and 48mm sizes. The new watch may also have improved water resistance and a new feature called Reflection, which will react to ambient light with the watch face.
Heart health and old features
However, the Apple Watch Series 10 will not include the blood oxygen sensor feature, which was removed from the first watch. However, it will still have heart health features such as high and low heart notifications, cardio fitness, ECG app and atrial fibrillation history.
The story of security
Over the past few months, the Apple Watch has played a key role in saving several lives. For example, in May, a woman's life was saved by identifying an abnormal heart rate. Last year, the Apple Watch also helped call an ambulance after a trail runner crashed.
