How does the Digital Arrest scam work?
PM Modi said that in this scam, the thugs call by claiming to be officers of the police, CBI, narcotics, or RBI. These people talk with great confidence and already have information about you, such as your recent travel or family information.
Their first step is to collect your personal information. After this, they create fear in your mind, which makes you panic. For example, they tell you that you are in some legal trouble.
Fear and time pressure
PM said that the fraudsters first create fear and then put pressure on the time. They say that you have to take a decision immediately or else you will be arrested. This type of psychological pressure confuses the victim and he is unable to take the right decision.
Anyone can be harmed
PM Modi also said that this scam does not only target people of one class or age, but people of every age and class are falling prey to it. Many people have lost their hard-earned money due to this fear.
