This news comes from Ming-Chi Kuo, a well-known analyst from TF Securities International, who reports that technical issues with the device's components are causing the delay.

According to Kuo, Apple was originally planning to launch the foldable MacBook by early 2026. However, challenges with the display and mechanical parts have led the company to revise its production timeline. The new expected date for the foldable MacBook’s debut could be as late as late 2027 or 2028.

In addition to the MacBook news, Kuo has provided an update on the rumored foldable iPad. While there were previous rumors suggesting a 2025 release for a foldable iPad, Kuo has indicated that there is currently no new information available on this product. Kuo's recent analysis also reveals that Apple has decided against the previously considered 20.25-inch display option for the foldable MacBook. Instead, the company is now expected to use an 18.8-inch screen. When folded, this size would translate to laptop displays of approximately 13 inches and 14 inches.

Despite the ongoing developments, Apple has not provided new details about the foldable iPad, leaving its potential 2025 release in doubt. Kuo suggests that there might have been some confusion among market analysts who could have mistakenly associated the foldable MacBook with the foldable iPad, leading to mixed reports.
