Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh: On Tuesday, November 23, the Andhra Pradesh government resolved to provide free rice, red gramme dal, onions, and potatoes to all flood-affected families.
According to a press release from the state government, the decision to distribute essential commodities came following a review meeting to analyse the flood situation in Chittoor, Nellore, YSR Kadapa, and Anantapur districts.
For the residents in these impacted districts, the government has decided to offer 25-kilo rice, one kilo red gramme dal, one litre palm oil each family, onion (1 kilo), and potatoes (1 kg). The government has requested the Commissioner of Civil Supplies, who is also the government's ex-officio Principal Secretary, to take the required steps to ensure that vital commodities are distributed.
According to a source, 243 aid camps are open in all of the impacted regions. There had been a total of 20,923 people evacuated. A total of 23,994 people were affected, with 1,549 homes being damaged and 233450 hectares of crop being ruined. The whole loss is worth 231.09 lakh rupees.
