VIJAYAWADA: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy has directed officials to address problems with tax collection and announced the creation of a committee to boost registration department revenue and provide services without delay.

He said that Andhra's GST collection rate, which was 28.79 percent compared to all of India's rate of 27.8 percent, was higher than the national average. In the first half of the current fiscal year to September 2022, the state collected Rs 25,928 crore as opposed to the target of Rs 27,445 crore. The Chief Minister issued orders to the departments responsible for collecting taxes to enhance openness, close gaps and leaks in tax collection, and boost state revenue.

The CM was informed that the half-yearly revenue collection was encouraging and met 94.47 percent of the objective during a review meeting of related departments here on Thursday. To stop leaks in tax collection, he advised the officials to use the services of specialised organisations. 

The CM reviewed the Transport division and instructed the officials to guarantee that more automobiles are sold in AP than in other states and to take legal action against dealers who fail to deliver booked vehicles when complaints are made. He expressed his happiness that AP had met goals for tax collection in the first half of the current fiscal year up to 94.47 percent.

He urged the authorities to offer alternative work possibilities to raise the living conditions of those who brew booze and gave them orders to obtain daily reports on illegal liquor production from women police in the areas.
The CM formed a special committee with senior IAS officers with the intention of taking actions to boost income generation in the Stamps and Registrations Department and effectively fulfill targets. He instructed the group to deliver a report to him in two weeks. The group, which is made up of MT Krishna Babu, Rajit Bhargava, Nirab Kumar Prasad, and Gulzar, will present a report on how to boost revenue collection while maintaining adaptable and open policies for the good of the populace.

Jagan instructed the officials to research the popular registration practises and laws in other states. He requested that they notify the public about the services offered by posting flyers at village secretariats and sub-registrar offices.

He instructed the officials, saying "Not just lands and other properties, but the people should also know the information of other services which can be registered." He also suggested that the specifics of complaints be made available in the sub-registrars' offices. He requested that they address the issues facing those who possess mining leases.
