AMARAVATI: A student belonging to Andhra Pradesh was shot dead by an unknown person in a suspected case of robbery in Ohio State of the United States on Thursday morning, April 20.
Veera Saiesh aged 25, hailing from Eluru in Andhra Pradesh, was killed at a fuel station on West Broad Street, Franklinton in Columbus
As per information received by his family, the assailant shot Saiesh at 12.50 am, local time at the Shell fuel station, where he was working as a clerk.
Columbus Fire service personnel deployed the spoy and shifted the victim to a local hospital. Despite life-saving measures, the victim was pronounced dead at 1.27 am, they said.
Saiesh, who was pursuing his master's course and also doing a part-time job at a fuel station, was taken to hospital and was declared dead after a while.
The suspect's pictures have been made public by the Columbus Police, who have asked anyone with information about him to contact them.
Police believe that although the shooting's motivation has not yet been determined, it was likely the result of a robbery.
Saiesh, who had recently lost his father, has left there for academic purposes in November 2021. He had also started working part-time at a petrol station to support the family financially.
When they learned the news, his mother and older brother in Eluru were astounded. They have requested assistance from the Indian government in bringing home the deceased's mortal remains.
