The YSR Congress government has so far paid out Rs 583.78 crore, including the Rs 285.35 crore in financial support that will be handed over to them on Tuesday.
The state administration claimed that the process of selecting beneficiaries for financial assistance under the scheme was transparent, with their names posted in the appropriate village/ward secretariats and a social audit undertaken on the beneficiaries.
Because the recipients' bank accounts remained unencumbered, the banks were unable to collect fresh deposits to cover the old debts.
