Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy on Friday inaugurated the 'Akshaya Patra,' a state-of-the-art centralised kitchen established up by the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) at Atmakur in Mangalagiri Mandal.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation will cook the food for mid-day meals in ISKCON's central kitchen and distribute it to schools. The Chief Minister met with the students and provided their lunch on this occasion.
Subsequently, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy performed Bhoomi Puja for the construction of ISKCON's 'Hare Krishna Gokula Kshetram' in Kolanukonda, Tadepalli Mandal, Guntur district, which is costing Rs 70 crores.
Ministers Cherukuvada Sriranganadharaju, Adimulapu Suresh, and Vellampally Srinivas were among those present, as were MPs, MLCs, MLAs, and ISKCON officials.
