New Delhi: On the occasion of the 81st anniversary of the Quit India Movement, Union Home Minister Amit Shah directed his focus towards the Opposition parties. He resolutely proclaimed, "The time has come for Corruption to Quit India, for Appeasement to Quit India, and for Dynasty to Quit India."
Sharing his thoughts on Twitter, Shah eloquently scribed, "As the nation savors the essence of Independence on this day, the 9th of August remains an aromatic reminiscence of the #QuitIndia Movement and the visionary leaders who spearheaded it. Their valor ignites our spirits to unite in harmony: Corruption Quit India, Appeasement Quit India, Dynasty Quit India."
Noteworthy is the fact that Bharatiya Janata Party Members of Parliament orchestrated a demonstration on the premises of the Parliament, marking the historic milestone of the Quit India Movement. Their voices echoed with slogans, and their posters conveyed messages like 'Let Corruption Quit India, Let Dynasty Quit India, Let Appeasement Quit India'.
Prominent BJP figures including Nishikant Dubey and Ravi Shankar Prasad seized the moment to criticize the Congress party, accusing it of fostering corruption and upholding dynastic traditions. Dubey articulated, "Over these 75 years of the Congress and its affiliated factions, they have injected three malevolent elements into the nation, akin to termites devouring our integrity. The time has come to rally against these elements, as democracy is meant for the common citizen."
"The second challenge pertains to Corruption. The third revolves around appeasement - a politics that sacrifices principles for the sake of securing a voter base among minorities. This is obstructing the implementation of effective policies within the nation."
"...Widespread dominance of familial influence in the realm of politics must fade into history. The taint of corruption must be banished from our nation, and the politics of appeasement must dissolve into the past. For the preservation of our democratic fabric, these ills - dynastic rule and corruption - must bid farewell to India," articulated BJP MP Ravi Shankar Prasad during a press conference.
In a tribute honoring the valiant participants of the Quit India Movement, the Prime Minister advocated for a India free from corruption and dynastic control.
"Salutations to the stalwarts who were part of the Quit India Movement. Guided by the leadership of Gandhi Ji, this movement played an instrumental role in liberating India from the clutches of colonial rule," expressed Prime Minister Narendra Modi in a tweet.
"In the present day, the collective voice of India resonates as one: Corruption, your time in India is over. Dynasties, your era ends now. Appeasement, your sway fades away," he inscribed.
Notably, the 'Quit India' movement was inaugurated on August 9, 1942, as a formidable resistance against the dominion of British rule.
