Aligarh: Security has been tightened in Noorpur village of Tappal area of Aligarh district of Uttar Pradesh following tension between two communities over the removal of barat in front of the mosque. Police sources said on Tuesday that on May 26, a man from the majority community was in front of a mosque in Noorpur village along with barat. People from other communities had objected to playing songs in front of the mosque.
In the case, members of the majority community registered a case alleging that people belonging to minority communities threw stones at Barat and attacked them with sticks. Several people were injured in the incident and the glass of several of their vehicles was broken. A case was registered against lawyers, Kalua, Mustakim, Sharfu, Ansar, Sohail, Farooq, Amjad, Taufiq, Shajor, Leharu and some others under various sections of the Indian Penal Code and dalit Act in the case.
Family members who organised the wedding ceremony released a video on Monday alleging that they were deeply distressed by the May 26 incident and had pasted a pamphlet of 'This house is sold' outside his houses. They want to migrate to some other place because the minority community harasses them a lot.
