Bhopal: Petrol prices in the capital is setting a new record every day. Petrol prices rise 11 times in the last 20 days. "The demand for petrol-diesel will increase rapidly across the world after the vaccination of corona is started," says the experts who are aware of it. It is also being said that the price of crude oil from which petrol and diesel is made can also increase. If the oil companies increase the price of petrol at the current pace, petrol may surpass Rs 100 in the first month of January 2021.

Experts also spoke in this regard and say that at the current pace, companies can increase prices at least 40 times before February. At present, the petrol price is Rs. 91. 46 and after such an increase, the price can easily cross Rs. 100. The Madhya Pradesh government had imposed an additional duty of Rs. 1-1 on petrol-diesel in the name of Corona in the month of June. Thereafter, the average tax on petrol has crossed 39%. The government of Madhya Pradesh suffered a loss between April and June due to lockdown, but in every subsequent month, the government's earnings from petrol-diesel have risen to an average of Rs. 258 crores every month.

Tax on petrol increased by 9% in a year and 7% on diesel
Petrol- 2020 : 39% Tax 33% VAT +4. Rs. 5, additional duty (5%) + 1% cess.
2019: 30% tax 28% VAT+1. Rs. 5, additional duty (1%) + 1% cess.

Diesel-2020: 27% tax 23% VAT + 3 rupees additional duty (3%)+ 1% cess.
2019: 20% Tax 18% VAT + Cess 1% Rs. 1. Additional duty.
