Kota: A POCSO court in the Bundi district of Rajasthan has sentenced a man to 20 years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 35,000 for raping a 15-year-old minor girl. Special Public Prosecutor Mahavir Meghwal said in this regard on Friday. He said the court on Thursday afternoon sentenced Chothamal Bhil (25), who was alleged to have raped a girl living in his neighborhood in November 2019. The accused is a resident of Sumerganjmandi under the Indergarh police station in the Bundi district.

Meghwal further said that the victim had registered a case against Bhil on November 7, 2019, in which she accused her of raping her by threatening to kill her. According to the victim, Bhil found her alone at night and raped her while the girl's parents were sleeping in another room. Meghwal said the victim in her complaint said he entered her room through the roof and tied her mouth with a cloth and took her to a separate room and raped her.

The victim said that somehow she removed the cloth tied to her mouth and screamed so that her parents came into the room but by then Bhil had escaped. Police registered a case of rape under the Indian Penal Code and the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (POCSO).
