Noida: In Noida, Uttar Pradesh, a Noida court has convicted the father of the rape of his minor daughter in a rape case that took place 5 years ago. Court of Additional Sessions Judge III Niranjan Kumar sentenced the guilty father to 7 years imprisonment. The court has also imposed a fine on the guilty. The amount of the fine has been fixed at Rs 5000. Failure to pay the fine will result in additional imprisonment of 6 months.
In February 2015, a woman from Noida alleged that her minor daughter was raped by her husband. The woman had lodged a complaint against the accused husband at Sector 24 police station in Noida. Later, the police arrested the accused. It was clear from the evidence and testimony in the court of Additional Sessions Special Judge (POSCO Act) III Gomtabuddha Nagar Niranjan Kumar that the rape of the victim was sone by his father. The judge has ordered the guilty father to imprisonment for seven years and a fine of five thousand rupees. If not fine, the guilty will have to spend an additional 6 months in jail.
In this case, the defence has consistently argued that the girl has an affair with a boy. Thhe court gave this decision on the basis of evidence and witnesses and convicted the father of rape.
