Rajgarh: A fire broke out at a grocery store in Indira Nagar colony Beawara due to short circuit. 85-year-old woman Rodibai Dhangar lost her life due to suffocation in the smoke from the fire. According to police, Ramesh Dhangar has a grocery store in Indira Nagar colony. Where there is a shop, there are family members living upstairs. There is a basement below. The grocery store caught fire at around 4am on Wednesday due to an electric short circuit.
The family members were also sleepy as the same flames erupted. He came down nervously and set up shutters of other shops to secure other shops and prevent the flames. Due to this, his old mother Rodibai was sleeping in the basement. By the time the family members found out that the mother was inside, it was too late and the shutters could not open. The family members reported the incident to the Bewara police. Police reached the spot and launched rescue operations and the shutters were opened. By then Rodibai had died of suffocation in smoke.
According to police, the flames were very strong. Due to which the family members had come out of the house. The family members felt that everyone had come out of the house and all of them rushed to the rescue operation at their own level including extinguishing the fire, handing over the police. When the old woman was nowhere to be seen, she found out that she was inside. He tried to open the closed shutter, but that too did not open easily and the accident took place.
