Indore: The second wave of corona in Madhya Pradesh has proved fatal for teachers. The Teachers' Association of the state has informed that 850 school teachers have died due to corona infection in the state in the last three months. Jagdish Yadav, head of the State Teachers' Association, said, "More than 6,000 school teachers in the state were infected during vaccination and covid-19 surveys. More than 850 of them have lost their lives so far".
Jagdish Yadav said this was found in a survey conducted by the Teachers' Association in all districts of Madhya Pradesh. The highest number of 100 teachers in Chhindwara district has died due to corona. In addition, 95 teachers have infected and 78 in Rajgarh. The teachers have slammed the government for this, saying that teachers were employed as frontline workers in corona time, even though they were not given its status.
Teachers said they could not get priority in vaccination due to this. Bhagwan Singh Ranaut, a teacher posted in Rajgarh district, said, "Teachers have been given the responsibility of surveying corona cases and working at vaccination centres. But they have not been given PPE kits or gloves, etc. Even masks are being purchased on their own. The government has set up vaccination centres in schools and teachers have to work without necessary kits'.
