What does history say?
According to historians, on June 24, 1241, Rao Deva of the Hada dynasty conquered this district from the Meena chieftains. It is said that 'Bunda Meena' founded this district, which is why it got its name 'Bundi'. The former princely state of Bundi was ruled by 24 kings, during whose rule different constructions were carried out, the city was expanded, as well as the construction of kund-bawdis and umbrellas. However, historians have different beliefs about the history of Bundi. The wonderful palaces here are an excellent specimen of Rajput architecture. It also includes many murals of Bundi. Hazari Pol, Naubat Khana, Elephant Pole, Diwan-e-Aam, Chhatra Mahal, Badal Mahal and Phool Mahal are the special attractions here.
