Bharatpur: A heart-rending case has come to light in the ACB court in Bharatpur, Rajasthan, when patwari, accused of accepting a bribe of Rs 210, was sentenced to one and a half years in prison, leaving everyone stunned. However, whether the bribe is one rupee or lakh rupees, it falls under the category of crime, but this case is shocking. Special Judge ACB Court Rupa Gupta sentenced patwari, who is accused in a 20-year-old corruption case, to one-and-a-half years imprisonment and a fine of Rs 25,000.

Mahendra Agre of the ACB court said that Attar Singh Jat, son of Uday Singh, a resident of village Barakhur, had lodged a complaint with the Anti-Corruption Bureau office on October 8, 2002. It had said that three accounts of his father Attar Singh, uncle Mahendra Singh and Tau Chhatar Singh should have been copied. On October 5, 2002, he met Patwari Lokesh of Halka Madarpur. He made an application for deposit copying of three accounts. On this, Patwari Lokesh asked him to pay a bribe of Rs 270 each to give two copies of three accounts. On this, the victim said that the fee of two copies is 60 rupees. But patwari said that he would charge Rs 270 for Rs 45 per copy.

On this complaint, the ACB conducted verification in which the complaint was found to be correct. The ACB later caught the accused Patwari Lokesh red-handed while taking Rs 210. The court sentenced patwari Lokesh, accused in the case, to one year and six months imprisonment and a fine of 25,000 rupees.
