Chitrakoot: Two persons have been killed in a case of allegedly drinking raw liquor in the Rajpur area of Chitrakoot district of Uttar Pradesh. Four others are being described as seriously ill. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP), Shailendra Kumar Rai, while briefing the case on Sunday, said that the death of Sitaram (33) and Munna Singh (40) and Satyendra Singh (22), Vivek alias Chhotu (24), Babli Singh (38) and Durvijay Singh (32) have been reported to be critically ill in Khopa village under Rajpur police station area.
Replying to a question, ASP Shledra Kumar said that it would be clear only after investigation as to how the villagers died. He said that four sick people have been sent out for better treatment from the Community Health Centre (CHC) of Rajpur in critical condition. Sources said, on receipt of the incident, District Magistrate Sesamani Pandey and Superintendent of Police Ankit Mittal have also reached Khopa village.
The villagers said that in the afternoon on Saturday, the six people had drunk together with raw liquor, which worsened the health of all after drinking. According to villagers, one person died on Saturday evening, while the other succumbed to a private hospital in Rajpur on Sunday morning.
