Dholpur (Rajasthan): A tragic accident in Rajasthan's Dholpur district resulted in the deaths of 12 individuals, including children, after a sleeper bus collided with a tempo on Saturday night.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences for the victims and announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 2 lakh for the families of each deceased. Additionally, those injured in the accident will receive ₹50,000. The local administration is currently providing support to the affected families.

"The accident in Dholpur, Rajasthan, is heartbreaking. My condolences to the bereaved families of those who lost their lives, including innocent children. May God give them the strength to bear this pain. I also wish for the speedy recovery of all those injured," the Prime Minister stated.

The police reported that the collision occurred around 11 PM when the bus was traveling from Dholpur to Jaipur. Shiv Lahari Meena, the officer in charge of Bari Kotwali Police Station, confirmed that the accident involved a tempo and resulted in the loss of 12 lives, including three adult women and the tempo driver, as well as several young children.

Rajasthan Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma addressed the incident, emphasizing the need for proper medical treatment for the injured. "The news of the lives lost in the tragic road accident in Dholpur is deeply distressing. District administration officials have been instructed to ensure timely and adequate medical care for the injured. I pray to Lord Shri Ram for peace for the departed souls and a speedy recovery for the injured," he said.
