“If we teach today’s students as we taught yesterday’s, we rob children of  tomorrow!”-John Dewey

Ramkumar Ramadevu, Founder and CEO of EDZ ONE INTERNATIONAL, works on the same agenda and thus built a platform called the Zero Science Lab - a platform for all school students from std 1-12 in accordance with the NCERT curriculum (Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry).

Zero science lab is a simulation-based learning platform that helps educators to explain mathematics, physics and chemistry using interactive simulation activities.

Simulation upgrades and encourages the use of critical and evaluative thinking. Because they are polysemantic or open-ended, they encourage students to mull over the various implications of a concept. The scenario presented feels real and thus leads to more engaging interaction by the students. Zero Science Lab uses ways and designs its methodologies to help students understand the nuances of a concept. Early researches revealed through their studies that young students' understanding of science concepts using physical equipment, but today in the present times with the introduction of technological advances, mean there are novel options to introduce such ideas, through simulations.

The platform provided by Zero Science Lab proves to present worth while opportunities to exercise higher-order capabilities such as reflective thinking and abstraction – skills that are often cited in the literature as valuable outcomes not only from the younger children but from the older students and adults use of simulations as well.

In addition to this, the students can also use the simulation activities through Zero Science Lab’s- web app / mobile app. The most unique feature of this platform is that, unlike other educational platforms,  this lab is not at all an Animation content platform but it is an interactive and dynamic simulation platform that will entitle students to experiment and learn from their own mistakes. And most significantly the Zero Science Labs are 100% aligned with the CBSE NCERT course curriculum.

The Zero Science Lab Team is very passionate about the field of science, scientific studies and all its glory. But unfortunately, the present scenario of the Indian education system is more score centric. At the school level, science and mathematics are subjects where the aim is to achieve higher scores instead of creating an innovative scientific community. This brings forth in the spotlight the major drawback as the current educators have no proper tools/labs to impart knowledge to students with more practical approaches. As an alternative,  especially as we see that the schools are also turning to virtual classrooms given the unavoidable situations like COVID19 where schools remained shut for more than a year-connecting every classroom to "virtual online simulation labs' ' is an easy and affordable solution.

Thus the Founder and his team built Zero science lab to address this challenge. They have been working on this concept for approximately 3 years now. The achievement for the Zero Science Lab is that so far 3000 users from different schools are currently using the platform, and it has been proven that student engagement and discussion in the classrooms increased a lot due to activity-based learning.

Today’s need of the time calls for quality virtual learning and though several platforms are already present, however, Zero Science Lab proves out to be the most unique and operates also on a very different methodology emphasising on the simulation tools virtually for simple teachings and understanding of the different concepts of Mathematics and Science.
