Butter Khichdi Recipe:
Washing and soaking: Firstly, wash the moong dal and rice thoroughly. Then soak them in water for some time.
Cooking in a cooker: Now put the soaked lentils and rice in a cooker. Add turmeric, red chili powder, coriander powder and salt to it. Keep the amount of water a little more. Close the cooker and cook till 3-4 whistles.
Ghee Tadka: Heat ghee in a pan. Add cumin seeds and asafoetida. When the cumin seeds crackle, add green chillies and grated ginger. If desired, you can also add onions or tomatoes.
Mixing spices: Add the roasted spices in the pan to the cooker and mix them well.
Serving: Transfer the butter khichdi to a bowl. Sprinkle finely chopped coriander leaves and lemon juice on top.
