Lucknow: The administration has demolished the encroachments on Mulleshah Dargah as part of the anti-encroachment drive in Uttar Pradesh's Etah district. The action was taken on May 15, 2022 (Sunday). This action is being highly praised on social media. At the same time, the Samajwadi Party (SP) is opposing this action of the administration. According to media reports, the ADM administration of Etah district has confirmed the action.
"The dargah will be kept safe, but the rooms that are being built on top of it have been demolished. People started living in this room. At the same time, the SP has opposed this action of the administration.'' SP MLA from Dibiyapur Pradeep Yadav said, "On the orders of our national president Akhilesh Yadav, a 7-member delegation has investigated the matter. We oppose this action.'' The inquiry report will be submitted to our head. This issue will be taken up in the Assembly. SP's Etah district president Parvez Zuberi has also termed the action wrong. He said, "It's been a very wrong thing. It should not be so. It's an attempt to break our unity.''
There was a fair at the dargah of Mulleshah every Thursday. There was a sale of sheets etc. in the fair, which were said to be fulfilled on offering and burning incense sticks. A man named Sonu Kumar was made the caretaker here. How old this dargah is is, it is not clear today. But caretakers are calling it 100 years old. Locals say that the dargah was located just opposite to the district judge's residence in Etah, as well as the boundary of the DM bungalow. Earlier the dargah was small which later became big by illegal encroachments around.
