Ancient Indian Acharya Chanakya is known for his wisdom, policies and knowledge. Chanakya has told many important things in ethics and economics, which are relevant even today. In Chanakya Niti, he has given many such messages which guide in life. In one of those policies, Chanakya has told that waking up some creatures while sleeping can prove dangerous for us. Let us know, who should not be woken up from sleep.
Chanakya's verse
"Ahin Nripam Cha Shardulam Kitin Cha Balkam Tath. Parshvanam Cha Murkam Cha Sapta Suptaan Bodhiyat"
In this shloka, Chanakya says that a snake, a king, a lion, a leopard, a child, another person's dog and a foolish person - these seven should never be awakened from deep sleep. Doing so can be dangerous for us.
Why should we not pick up these animals?
1. Snake
If a snake is awakened from sleep, it can become aggressive. When a snake is awakened from sleep, it tries to attack directly. Therefore, a snake should not be disturbed at all while sleeping, otherwise it can bite.
2. The King
Chanakya says that the king should not be woken up from sleep without any urgent work. This can make the king angry and he can punish you. It is wise to avoid the king's anger.
3. Lion
A sleeping lion should never be woken up. A lion is a very powerful and dangerous animal. If it is woken up from sleep, it can attack immediately. Therefore, disturbing a lion from its sleep can be fatal.
4. Little child
One should not wake up a sleeping child. Children become irritable as soon as they wake up from sleep and start crying and screaming. In this situation, it becomes difficult to pacify them, so children should be allowed to sleep to their fullest.
5. Someone else's dog
One should not wake up another person's dog from sleep. If a sleeping dog is woken up, it may attack and bite. The dog's behavior may be erratic, so it should be allowed to sleep peacefully.
6. Foolish person
If a foolish person is woken up from sleep, he can quarrel in anger. Such people should not be woken up unless it is necessary.
7. Stinging animals
Poisonous and stinging creatures should also not be disturbed while sleeping. Any of these creatures can attack as soon as they wake up, so it is safe to keep a distance from them. This policy of Chanakya tells us that we should avoid interfering with the sleep of certain creatures. Doing so can put us in unnecessary trouble and danger. These words of Chanakya are as important in today's life as they were at that time.
