A strange incident happened during the first film
During an episode of Indian Idol, Asha Parekh shared an interesting anecdote. She told that she first worked with Rajesh Khanna in the film 'Baharon Ke Sapne'. Asha told that Rajesh Khanna was very shy and introvert initially. He did not talk much to anyone, especially in those early days when he was starting his career. Asha Parekh said, "He was a little scared of me because he was in the early stages of his career and was probably feeling a little hesitant."
Rajesh Khanna's fear and Asha Parekh's displeasure
Asha Parekh narrated a funny incident, "One day Rajesh Khanna looked at me and then suddenly turned his face away. I felt very bad and thought what kind of behaviour is this. Then he also got scolded. Later, Rajesh Khanna called me and apologized to me. He said that he did not intend to ignore me, but he was afraid of me."
Rajesh Khanna's changing nature after becoming a superstar
When asked how difficult it was to work with Rajesh Khanna, Asha Parekh told India Today in an interview, "When he became a superstar, his nature changed a bit. But when we first worked together, he was a very quiet and serious person. He used to come to my house and was quite an introvert. But as he became a superstar, there was a crowd of girls around him and his behaviour changed completely."
Rajesh Khanna's lateness and Asha Parekh's experience
Asha Parekh also revealed about Rajesh Khanna's punctuality. She said, "Rajesh Khanna once started asking me why I come so early on the set. I said, 'The shift is at 2 pm, so I reach at 2 pm.' To this he jokingly said, 'Why do you come so early? I will come at 4 pm, you also come at 4 pm.' After this we took it as a joke and adjusted the time." Eventually, after working together in many films, the two developed a good friendship and it became easy for them to work together.
