Andhra Pradesh: With the surfacing of 'terrorist activities' in the Atmakur incident, Union Minister of State for External Affairs V. Muraleedharan said on Monday that the law and order situation in Andhra Pradesh was in jeopardy.
The BJP's state unit had previously expressed reservations that activists with ties to an extremist group banned in multiple states were engaged in the attack on party leaders in Kurnool's Atmakur area.
Speaking to reporters here, the Union Minister said it was concerning that certain members of terrorist organisations were present at the Superintendent of Police's recent press conference in Kurnool. "The whole police administration in the state is controlled by YSRCP party leaders. Muraleedharan said, "The Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy regime is mired in corruption."
Muraleedharan said he went to the Kadapa sub-jail to meet with B. Srikanth Reddy, the Kurnool district BJP chief. "Srikanth Reddy had arrived in Atmakur after receiving permission from the police, but he was falsely accused and imprisoned. Srikanth Reddy and other party cadres should be released from jail as soon as possible, according to the YSRCP government.
