The Pushkar Singh Dhami government of the state is going to provide great relief to the Joshimath landslide disaster victims. In the special cabinet meeting to be held on Friday, a roadmap regarding the future of Joshimath has also been released. The government has started an exercise to set up a new Joshimath on the lines of the new Tehri. For which the search for land has been started from the administration level. While giving information about the latest situation in Joshimath at the media center located at the Secretariat on Thursday, the Secretary of Disaster Management also indicated this.
He said that a decision is going to be taken in the cabinet meeting regarding the rehabilitation and relief package for the disaster-affected people in Joshimath. Along with this, where the new Joshimath will be established, it is also going to be decided. At present, some government lands have also been identified. Land surveys and geological studies of these lands are also being done by GSI. there, Government land is being reconstructed at the administrative level to set up a new Joshimath. Personnel from revenue to municipality and block officers have been engaged in this work.
The Horticulture Department has about 5 hectares of land in Kotibaug, just above Joshimath city. Similarly, NTPC land is available in Dhak village on Malari road. Apart from the land of Koti Farm near Auli, a search has also started for government land till Pipalkoti, Gauchar, and Gairsain. Measurement of all the houses in the affected area is being done in Joshimath. After which an opinion is going to be made on the place of rehabilitation.
The news says that the high-resolution mapping database of Joshimath city is also going to be prepared. GSI is doing this work. The director of the institute, Dr. Prasun Jana, has said that till now they have maps of one by 10,000 resolution, while the new mapping is going to be done at one by one thousand resolution. Getting a high-resolution map will help in setting up new Joshimath along with disaster management in Joshimath city.
