Agartala: A 23-member team of I-PAC, a company of Chu Navi strategist Prashant Kishore, has been camping at a hotel in Agartala, Tripura since last week for a political evaluation of the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress (TMC) ahead of the 2023 state assembly elections. Meanwhile, information is now being received that the local police have "put the hotel under house arrest."
TMC, which is strengthening its ground in Tripura, had recently appointed Ashish Lal Singh as party president in the state. TMC says the BJP is "afraid" of it as the party is strengthening its base across the country. Ashish Lal Singh said, "Today's incident is extremely shocking and we are ashamed because it is not the culture of Tripura. The way the BJP government treats the I-PAC team. The miscreants started abusing him from 1 pm last night. When they were about to leave the hotel, they were detained as if they were criminals.''
He further said, 'His duty was only to contact the people of Tripura. In fact, the BJP government is afraid of TMC. He has realized that gradually the strength of TMC is increasing day by day. More than 65,000 people have joined the Trinamool since June 2."
