New Delhi: Former Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Sunday got a new normal passport and will fly to the US on Monday, two days after a local court issued a no-objection certificate (NOC). Sources have given this information. Rahul Gandhi had applied for a normal passport after submitting a diplomatic passport issued to him as a Member of Parliament.
Rahul was disqualified as an MP after a Surat court convicted him in a criminal defamation case. After this, Rahul returned the diplomatic travel documents. Rahul Gandhi will leave for San Francisco in the US this evening. Rahul Gandhi's programs are also proposed in some other cities of America. On June 4, he will deliver a speech in front of the Indian diaspora in New York.
Along with this, Rahul Gandhi is also going to give a speech in front of students at the prestigious Stanford University in San Francisco. He will then hold a press conference in Washington and hold meetings with US lawmakers and think tanks. He is also expected to address Indian-Americans during his nearly 10-day visit to the US.
Earlier this year, Rahul Gandhi also visited the UK, where he gave a speech at Cambridge University. However, Rahul Gandhi had said some controversial things in his speech, on which there was a lot of uproar. In such a situation, people are now expressing apprehension on social media whether Rahul will repeat the Cambridge mistake at Stanford University too. In fact, in Britain, Rahul had said that PM Narendra Modi considers Muslims and Sikhs as second-class citizens. Rahul Gandhi made this statement at a time when Khalistani attacks were taking place all over the world against the Indian community. Days after Rahul Gandhi's statement, on March 19, Khalistanis in the UK attacked the Indian Embassy and insulted the tricolour there.
Apart from this, Rahul Gandhi also claimed that he was spied on and his phone had Pegasus. On the Pegasus case, the Supreme Court committee had examined 29 mobiles, out of which pegasus was not found in any of them. However, Rahul did not give his mobile for investigation. In such a situation, the opponents surrounded Rahul and said that, if he had Pegasus in his mobile, then why did he not get his phone checked? And when the Supreme Court committee did not find Pegasus, then why did Rahul go abroad and make baseless allegations against the Indian government?
In the UK itself, Rahul Gandhi had also alleged that democracy is dying in India and the UK-US, who claim to protect it, are silently watching. On this, many politicians said that if Rahul Gandhi saw democracy in danger in India, then he could have approached the court, or talked to political parties in India.
