Mujibur Islam Majumdar, the leader of the Tripura Trinamool Congress (TMC), has died in an attack by "BJP goons." Majumdar died in the early hours of Wednesday morning at Kolkata's SSKM Hospital. After leaving the saffron party in August last year, TMC leader Mujibur Islam Majumdar was attacked by "BJP thugs" and suffered critical injuries. Mansur Ali, the former Tripura agricultural minister in the previous Congress administration, had a son named Majumdar.

After he was reportedly beaten by "BJP goons" at his home, Mujibur Islam Majumdar suffered from a variety of ailments, including cardiovascular disease.  He is survived by his wife and two children. 

The TMC has reacted angrily to the death of Mujibur Islam Majumdar. The TMC is blaming the BJP for Majumdar's death.TMC leader Subal Bhowmik has sought exemplary punishment for those responsible for Mujibur's untimely death. "In Tripura, there is no law and order at all." Under the BJP's misrule, the state has reached its lowest point. Majibur Islam Majumder deserves justice, according to the Tripura TMC.
