Three members of the same family were killed by firing bullets on a car in front of Akalgarh Gurudwara at Bansi Gate in Ferozepur on Tuesday afternoon. This incident reminded people of the murder of singer Sidhu Moosewala in 2022, in which Moosewala was also surrounded and shot dead in a similar manner.
Murder due to old enmity
According to the police, this murder has happened due to an old rivalry. Eyewitnesses say that six miscreants who came on three bikes surrounded the car, opened fire and then fled from the spot.
Dildeep Singh already had murder cases against him
The deceased included a youth named Dildeep Singh, against whom murder cases are registered in Mamdot district Ferozepur and Kharar district Mohali. SP (D) Randhir Kumar said that this attack was due to an old rivalry. Police have cordoned off the entire area and CCTV camera footage is being examined.
Girl dies after being shot in the head
People present at the scene said that as soon as the car reached in front of the Gurudwara, the youths riding on bikes surrounded it and opened fire indiscriminately. There were five people in the car, including a young woman named Jaspreet Kaur. Jaspreet Kaur was shot in the head and died on the spot. Apart from this, Dildeep Singh and Akashdeep Singh died in the hospital, while Harmesh Singh and Anmoldeep Singh are seriously injured.
The deceased was getting married after ten days
The family of the deceased said that Jaspreet Kaur was to get married after ten days. All the family members had gone to distribute wedding cards to relatives and buy goods from the market, when the miscreants attacked them.
The accused attacked by ambush
According to sources, the accused were getting every minute information about the victims. When the victims reached the road of Bansi Gate, the accused ambushed them and started firing. There were a total of nine attackers, out of which six were armed. People in the vicinity got panicked after hearing the sound of bullets. The injured remained lying on the road, who were taken to the hospital with the help of the police.
