According to the staff of the Redith Aquatic and Wildlife Museum, this fish belongs to the piranha species, which is called "Paku" in the local language. Its teeth are particularly human-like and help the fish to chew its food.

This fish is found especially in freshwater lakes of South America. These fish live in depths, so they do not get caught in the fishermen's net easily. The full size of this fish can reach up to 40 kg. This fish was first seen in 1980, and due to its uniqueness, it is now being smuggled. People want to buy it at a high price to keep it in their aquarium.

Current Status

Currently, the fish is housed at the Reddith Aquatic and Wildlife Museum but it is being considered to release it back into the water.
