Many times in the Bollywood industry, despite doing excellent acting, actors have to struggle for work. One name added to this list is that of actress Ahana Kumara, who impressed the audience with her strong acting in films and web series like 'Lipstick Under My Burkha', 'The Accidental Prime Minister', 'Inside Edge' and 'Call My Agent: Bollywood'. Ahana has made a distinct identity on Bollywood and OTT platforms on the basis of her acting. But now this talented actress is facing lack of work and she has to look for other options apart from acting to pay her bills.
The struggle of Ahana Kumara
Aahana Kumara worked in several theatre productions and advertisements before entering Bollywood. In 2014, she got a chance to come into the limelight when she worked with Amitabh Bachchan in the psychological thriller TV series 'Yuddh'. In this show, Amitabh Bachchan played the role of Yudhishthir Sikarwar, while Aahana played his daughter Taruni Sikarwar. After this, Aahana played lead roles in several web series and films, which gave her a lot of recognition on OTT platforms.
facing a shortage of work
However, her last film was 'Salaam Venky', in which she shared screen space with Kajol. But Ahana has not got any new project since the year 2022. In a recent interview, Ahana spoke openly about her struggles. She told, "I have not been offered any show for three years. Earlier I used to work a lot on OTT, but now I am not getting any offers."
Preference given to low budget artists
Ahana also said that producers in the industry now prefer to give work to big stars or artists who charge less fees. That is why she is now thinking about alternative forms of cinema. Ahana says that she will have to do something to earn her livelihood, so she is looking at other options along with films.
Starting a production house
Ahana has now opened her own production house to improve her situation. She says, "I have got my own production house, and I am focusing on theatre and OTT projects. If a good offer comes, I will do it, but now I will work on my own terms. The current situation of the industry is a bit difficult because the market here has become very bad now."
Passion for cinema remains intact
Aahana Kumara also made it clear that she will never give up her passion for cinema. However, she will not wait for acting offers but will now focus more on creating good content. According to Aahana, with the changes in the industry, she too has to make her own way, and now she is trying to explore new opportunities through her production house.
