If you come to know that you have only one year left to live, what will you do? Some people will answer that they would like to spend as much time as possible with their family and friends, while some may think of following a spiritual path. But today we will tell you the story of a person who took an inspiring step different from all these.

The story of a fitness trainer affected by brain cancer

35-year-old fitness trainer, Ian Ward, took a major turn in his life in 2019. He found out that he had terminal brain cancer and had just a year left to live. But instead of giving up, he decided to do something that is inspiring for everyone.

Thinking Positive Despite Cancer

When Ian learned that he only had 365 days left, he decided to raise money for cancer research. Ian told 'The Post', "When I saw how my world was being destroyed, I thought I couldn't give up. I decided to use the remaining days of my life for good work and raise as much money as possible for cancer research."

source of motivation

Ian said, "I was shaken to the core when I found out about cancer. I read about how marathons can raise money. I found the story of an athlete who had raised 3 million dollars. I thought I could do even better than this and create a world record for donations. That's why I got involved in this mission."

star on social media

Ian's story has now gone viral on social media. He is known as the 'King of Chemo'. He has 5.5 million followers on TikTok and 6.7 million followers on Instagram. He aims to run 7 races in 7 days on 7 continents in November 2024, including a NYC marathon.

Money raised so far

Ian continued to run and cycle during his chemotherapy. He has raised nearly $500,000 from his marathons so far. He says, "The worst time of my life came when I was undergoing radiotherapy. It threatened to destroy my mental balance, but I wanted to move forward despite all this."
