Andhra Pradesh: N. Chandrababu Naidu, the National President of the Telugu Desam Party (TDP), has written a letter to Director General of Police (DGP) Gautam Sawang, requesting that a transparent investigation be conducted into a recce conducted near the home of TDP leader Vangaveeti Radha with the intent to kill him.
In a letter dated December 29, Chandrababu stated that the state of law and order in Andhra Pradesh is "appalling." Vangaveeti Radha, a TDP leader from Vijayawada, appears to be the latest target in a series of assassination attempts. According to Radha, a group of persons has been watching and following him, largely performing reconnaissance in preparation for an attack. "Such criminal deeds carried out in broad daylight attest to the truth of Andhra Pradesh's reign of jungle and goonda raj," he remarked.
It is critical to conduct the investigation in a transparent manner and to ensure that the perpetrators are held accountable. Such incidents occur frequently since no substantial action has been taken in response to previous unlawful and violent incidents. In the event of any harm or attack against Radha, the government will be held accountable, he said, adding, "Only a rigorous measure after a thorough investigation against the perpetrators can ensure that fundamental rights are maintained in the State from goonda raj."
