ata Motors has recently launched its new electric car Curve in the Indian market. The petrol and diesel variants of this car are also going to be launched in the market soon. The special thing is that Tata has included a completely new engine in this new car, which has been named Hyperion. Curve will be the first Tata car to come with this new engine.
Tata has included the Hyperion engine in its new petrol and diesel variants. It has also promised to include this engine in Tata Nexon. But the question is, will Tata Motors include this Hyperion engine in its cheapest non-SUV as well?
Talking about the cheapest diesel car in India, Tata Altroz is a prominent name. Altroz is available with diesel options in the range of Rs 50 lakh. It has a 1.5-liter diesel engine, which generates 113 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque.
The Tata Curve is powered by a new Kryojet diesel engine that generates 118 bhp of power and 260 Nm of torque. This engine can also be included in the diesel variant of the Tata Altroz.
The engine options of Tata Curve include 1.2-litre turbo petrol, 1.2-litre TGDi, and 1.5-litre diesel engines. The special thing is that these engines are also provided with dual-clutch automatic (DCA) gearboxes. This technology can now be used in the diesel engine of Tata Altroz as well.
DCA (Dual Clutch Automatic) gearbox is already present in petrol variants. Through this, gears and driving modes can be changed electrically, without any mechanical component. The company claims that gear shifting with DCA gearbox takes only 250 milliseconds. In this way, Tata Motors is trying to show a new direction in the Indian auto market with its new engines and technologies. If you are fond of diesel cars, then this new technology can also be seen in Altroz in the coming days.
