Legendary Tamil comic actor Bijili Ramesh has died today in Chennai after a prolonged illness related to liver problems. His final rites will be held near MGR Nagar in Chennai at 5 pm today (August 27).
Ramesh had been bedridden for several months, and his family had reached out to colleagues for financial assistance to cover his medical expenses. Known for his candid discussions about health, Ramesh often advised against heavy drinking, reflecting on his own struggles with alcoholism.
Ramesh gained popularity with a viral prank sketch on YouTube in 2018 and became a notable figure in pop culture. He featured in a special promotional song for the movie "Kolamaavu Kokila," starring south superstar Nayanthara and directed by Nelson Dilipkumar.
His film career included comedic roles in Tamil cinema, with appearances in movies such as Amala Paul's "Aadai," Hip Hop Adhi's "Natpe Thunai," Jayam Ravi's "Comali," and Jyotika's "Ponmagal Vandhal." He also participated in the cooking reality TV show "Cooku With Comali."
