Netflix has unveiled the first teaser poster and trailer for the highly anticipated Season 2 of Squid Game, set to premiere on December 26.
In this new season, Gi-hun, known as Player 456, returns to the intense survival competition three years after his previous victory. Determined and ready for action, he chooses to re-enter the game instead of moving to the U.S., aiming for the massive 456 billion won prize alongside new participants.
The teaser shows Gi-hun in a tense position, facing off against the ominous Front Man. The familiar Pink Guards make a return, adding to the eerie yet playful atmosphere created by the music. A striking image of the cash-filled piggy bank serves as a reminder of the life-changing stakes. The teaser culminates in an exciting action sequence featuring Gi-hun in his iconic green tracksuit, gearing up for the challenges ahead.
The conflict between Gi-hun (played by Lee Jung-jae) and the Front Man (portrayed by Lee Byung-hun) intensifies as Gi-hun seeks revenge in this perilous new game. The tagline, "The Game will Not Stop," hints at even higher stakes and unexpected twists.
Joining the cast for Season 2 are Yim Si-wan, Kang Ha-neul, Park Gyu-young, Lee Jin-uk, Park Sung-hoon, Yang Dong-geun, Kang Ae-sim, Lee David, Choi Seung-hyun, Roh Jae-won, Jo Yu-ri, and Won Ji-an.
Produced by Firstman Studio, with Kim Ji-yeon and Hwang Dong-hyuk as executive producers, Squid Game first premiered on September 17, 2021, quickly becoming a global sensation and Netflix's most-watched series.
