The School of Lies trailer, which debuted on Wednesday, for the upcoming Disney Plus Hotstar series can already be seen as being excellent. According to reports, it is based on actual events and centers on a missing schoolboy. Actors Nimrat Kaur, Aamir Bashir, Geetika Vidya Ohlyan, Sonali Kulkarni, and Jitendra Joshi are among the ensemble cast of the series.
They all imply that 12-year-old Shakti was a difficult student who lied and even stole money, which makes the boarding school staff and kids appear to be concealing something. One of the pupils claims to have personally witnessed Shakti fleeing. Even after his mother pushes them, the school waits to notify the police. Meanwhile, the police believe there is some problem that led to his disappearance.
A voiceover by Nimrat Kaur said, "Ek sach ko chupne ke liye yahan kitne jhoot bole jaa rahe hai (To hide one truth, there are so many lies being said)." The trailer indicates that there is a big coverup being conducted by the school and even the students. The question remains if Shakti will be found? And will he still be alive?
The trailer opens with Bashir’s character informing that a kid named Shakti Salgaonkar has been absent from his classes and nobody in The most recent time his school has seen him. Everyone, including Shakti's classmates, his seniors, the faculty at the school, and even his guardian, lie after lie, which deepens the enigma. As a school counselor, Nimrat Kaur can persuade the students to talk about what happened in relation to Shakti's disappearance.
As the mother of the missing child, Geetika Vidya Ohlyan, who has previously played the powerful roles Soni and Thappad, once again exudes confidence.
Ishani Banerjee and Avinash Arun Dhaware co-wrote and both directed the film School of Lies. According to the director, the series follows a story of“child’s loneliness, disconnect and repression.” He added, “Every child, in a boarding school or otherwise, will go through these phases at some point or the other. In today’s world, children are much more sensitive and exposed. School of Lies is a story of the times we live in, and an attempt to look with empathy at all the forces within us that may liberate or destroy us.”
