Ayodhya: The water level of the Saryu River in Ayodhya has surged following recent rainfall in the region. Central Water Commission official Balram reported that the water level has now reached 93.100 meters, surpassing the danger mark by 37 centimeters. The level has been rising continuously since yesterday.

In Varanasi, boat services have been temporarily halted due to a rise in the Ganga River's water level. Local boatmen, who rely on this service for their livelihood, are facing significant hardships. "Our work has stopped; boatmen are staying at home. Arti ceremonies are now being held on the rooftops of the ghats. We are encountering many problems," said one local boatman. Another, Mritunjay Kumar, highlighted the rapid increase in water levels and expressed hope for relief. "Boatmen are stuck; our food and work are both disrupted. We seek Maa Ganga's blessing for the water level to decrease," he said.

Earlier on September 13, Prayagraj received 0.3 mm of rainfall. Currently, 11 districts in Uttar Pradesh are affected by flooding, with 17 reported deaths due to the floods, according to the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's office. The office announced that relief funds of Rs 4 lakh each have been provided to the families of the deceased. Additionally, compensation has been given to 30 people for the loss of 30 animals, and 3,056 houses have been damaged.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath has ordered the deployment of NDRF, SDRF, and PAC teams as needed in the flood-affected areas. Meanwhile, Manish Vishwakarma, an employee of Prayagraj Vikas Bhava on a pilgrimage to Prayagraj, noted, "This is my fourth visit to Prayagraj, and for the second time, the water has come close to Hanuman Ji. It was a moving experience to see Hanuman Ji."

Boatman Shiva Kumar Nishad commented on the unexpected situation: "The water level in Prayagraj has risen significantly for the third time. This area, which was previously dry, is now flooded due to heavy rains. Boatmen are struggling, and there are concerns about how people will manage."
