NEW DELHI: Indian Army on February 16 announced modifications to the recruitment procedure for Junior Commissioned Officer / Other Ranks / Aginveers.
According to the revised recruiting process, the computer-based online Common Entrance Test (CEE) will be administered prior to the recruitment rally.
Applications can now be registered online between 16 February and 15 March 2023. It said that candidates may apply in accordance with their age, level of education, physical requirements, and other Qualification Requirements (QRs). There will be three steps to the recruitment process. At stage one, a computer-based online Common Entrance Test will be taken by all applicants who have registered and submitted applications online (CEE).
The shortlisted candidates will be invited to a recruitment rally, where they will take a physical fitness test and a physical measuring exam, at a venue determined by their local Army Recruitment Offices (AROs).
The selected candidates will go through medical exams in the last round.
From April 17 and April 30, 2023, there will be 175 to 180 examination centres across India hosting the online Common Entrance Test (CEE).
The ministry announced that instructional films on "How to Register" and "How to appear" in the online entrance exam have been posted to the Join Indian Army website on YouTube.
The cost of the Common Entrance Test (CEE) is Rs.500 per candidate, of which 50% will be covered by the Indian Army. By registering for an application online, candidates must pay Rs250. Also, they have a choice of five locations to take the Online Common Entrance Test (Online CEE).
The changed procedure will focus on enhanced cognitive parameters during recruitment and will result in wider and better outreach across the country. It will also cut large crowds assembling at Recruiting rallies and decrease the administrative commitments in their conduct besides cutting the number of candidates going for medical examination.
